Welcome to the Rangeley Lakes Region

The Rangeley Lakes region is extraordinary country. Mountains, lakes, rivers, and forest meet to form a watershed of unusual beauty and peace. It is a place where wildlife from moose to eagles have space to roam, where wild trout and land locked salmon thrive. The rich historic traditions of logging and fishing which contribute to the legends of the past and the economy of today are still reflected in the character of the landscape and its people.

The very characteristics that make this area so unique also threaten it's future. The pressures of development could permanently alter or eliminate the heritage of this region forever.

Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving open space, scenic beauty, critical wildlife habitat and the cultural heritage that makes this place so special. The Trust has forged precedent setting partnerships with state and federal government, conservation organizations, corporations and individuals to permanently protect the unique character of this region.
