Reminder to Contractors and Caretakers

Solid waste of any type generated in Rangeley Plantation, Sandy River Plantation, and northern Oxford County MUST be taken to their respective Transfer Stations as these areas have chosen not to financially support the Rangeley Transfer Station and it's many services.

The Rangeley taxpayer's trust must be protected by refusing to service non-contributors. It does not matter where the contractor resides, the waste generation source determines where it must be taken for disposal. e.g. if the building site is in Bemis, all solid waste associated with that job must be taken to the Rangeley Plantation Transfer Station on South Shore drive. If the job site is on Beaver Mtn. pond or Saddleback ski area all associated waste must go to Sandy River Plantation Transfer Station, while Cupsuptic goes to Wilson's Mills.

All who violate this provision will loose their privileges concerning use of the Rangeley Transfer Station. Reguler checks, sign-ins, and follow up by CEO are standard proceedure.

When legal, as a first choice lowest cost option, demolition debris and other exclusions may be buried on the site of generation.

See DEP's regulations or call DEP rep' Mike Parker at (1-207-287-7704).

Second choice option is to call
Rangeley Plantation (864-5155)
Sandy River Plantation (864-2234), or
Wilson's Mills (1-(207)-486-7791)

to see what services they offer or what alternative courses they recommend.

Maine Waste Inc. of Norridgewock is the closest of several companies that will deliver containers to job sites for disposal of construction or demolition debris generated in these Plantations.
Their representative is Brian Gordon (1-800-562-7779 ext.119) and he can give cost estimates that can be competetively included in your remodeling & construction bids.

For help with problem solving or planning of related matters call Steve Parrett at the Transfer Station (864-5610).
